This fine 18th century country house located at the entrance of the peninsula and less than 5 km from Saint-Tropez is as contemporary as it is classic.
Welcome to the Mas du Chastelas.

Le Mas de Chastelas is a luxury hotel, set in a preserved setting on the peninsula of Saint-Tropez.
The team offers 14 rooms and suites and many services, including tennis courts, a golf course and a swimming pool.

The main building of the Mas de Chastelas is part of the historical heritage of the Bertaud estate.
The Chesnaie de Bertaud was built in the 18th century. This is a maganery, dedicated to silkworm rearing. Dependence on the castle, it is later considered the summer residence of the Château Bertaud.
Owned in the middle of the second millennium of our era by the lords of Bertaud, colords of Gassin, the domain of Bertaud becomes the property of the roturier after the Revolution. It is gradually dismantled after the creation of the torpedo plant. Norbert Janmot, who bought the estate a few years earlier, moved to La Chesnaie until his death in 1941. In addition to the factory, the original estate of the château is home to several famous sites: the Mas de Chastelas and the wine-growing estate of Bertaud-Belieu.

The Mas de Chastelas became famous when the film La Collectionneuse was filmed in the summer of 1966. This is Éric Rohmer’s first notable film, which is one of the leading directors of the New Wave. The collector will be awarded a Silver Bear in Berlin.
The film, which was assembled by Patrick Bauchau, the husband of Brigitte Barjot's sister, Mijanou, holds a secondary role in the film, Daniel Pommereule and Haydée Politoff.

The Mas de Chastelas then becomes a hotel and quickly seduces many celebrities: Brigitte Bardot, Romy Schneider and Alain Delon, Claude Brasseur, whose family is based in the village of Gassin, Eddie Barclay, Serge Gainsbourg, Jane Birkin and their children in particular.

Between 1970 and 1973, the establishment hosted José Artur's cult show on France Inter, Que it is sweet to do nothing.
Le Mas de Chastelas is the site of another filming in 1979-1980, that of Je vous de Vous de Claude Berri. In front of the camera are a group of great actors: Catherine Deneuve, Gérard Depardieu, Jean-Louis Trintignant, and Serge Gainsbourg and Alain Souchon.
The hotel then welcomes Carole Bouquet, Pierre Mondy, Jean-Pierre Marielle, Dominique Sanda, Jacqueline Maillan.
The hotel has a renowned restaurant, La Table du Mas, run by chef Mathieu Hericotte. Here you can enjoy classic dishes made from local produce.
