Gassin is a medieval village perched at an altitude of 200 meters<\/strong>, nestled in a green setting. From the roof of the tourist office, there’s an extraordinary panoramic view of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez<\/strong>.     1. The medieval village<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The Gassinois settled on this rocky outcrop around the 11th<\/sup> century. The village grew up around a fortified tower on rue de la Tasco. The Passage du Guet and the Porte des Sarrazins <\/a>are emblematic features of the village’s historic center and heritage<\/a>, which also includes a 16th-century<\/sup> church<\/a>, typical wells<\/a> and remarkable gateways<\/a>. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

    The Ch\u00e2teau Minuty<\/a><\/strong>one of Provence’s 18 cr\u00fbs class\u00e9s, is an important stop on the Gassin wine trail. Nearby is Ch\u00e2teau Barbeyrolles<\/a><\/strong>whose vines are all organically farmed and which pioneered the development of light ros\u00e9s. Two other estates are also “AB” certified: the ch\u00e2teau de Chausse<\/a><\/strong>on the road to La Croix-Valmer and the domaine du Bourrian<\/a><\/strong>. The estates of <\/strong>Bertaud-Belieu<\/strong> <\/a>and La Rouill\u00e8re<\/strong> <\/a>export all over the world. The Tropez estate<\/strong> <\/a>was created by Gassinois at the end of the 20th<\/sup> century. Visit Cap Saint-Pierre<\/strong> <\/a>is also a family estate; the winery is located just before the entrance to Saint-Tropez. Finally, the Ma\u00eetres Vignerons de la Presqu’\u00eele<\/a><\/strong>in the direction of Cogolin, offer an assortment of wines created in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Gassin is home to other local producers,<\/a> including an olive grower, Domaine de Val de Bois<\/a>, and a Maison des Confitures<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    4. L’Hardy garden and rose garden<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Two gardens plunge you into soothing worlds. In the village, the L’Hardy garden<\/a>, classified as remarkable since 2009, is home to several hundred Mediterranean species. On the plain, the Jardin de Gassin<\/a> rose garden offers a zen-like world of old roses, with regular events including lectures and concerts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    5. Azur Parc<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Azur Park<\/a> is one of France’s leading amusement parks, and one of the main leisure attractions on the Gulf of Saint-Tropez<\/a>. In a family-friendly atmosphere, some forty attractions are on offer for young and old in search of thrills. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    6. Golf and polo<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Two sports establishments make Gassin unique: an 18-hole international golf course <\/a>and, nearby, the Haras de Gassin, home to the Polo Club<\/a>. Finals Sundays are open to the public free of charge: an opportunity to discover a sport that is rare in France. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    7. Secret beaches<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Three discreet beaches await you in Gassin: Plage de la Moune<\/a>, home to a sailing school, Plage du Treizain <\/a>and Plage de la Bouillabaisse<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    All around the Presqu’\u00eele, beaches await you, including the famous Pampelonne beach in Ramatuelle (5 kilometers of beach, with beach facilities and public areas), and the Gigaro and Sylvabelle beaches in La Croix-Valmer. In Saint-Tropez, several sandy beaches await you, near the village of La Ponche or along the coastal path (Les Graniers, Canebiers, La Moutte, Les Salins).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    8. Hiking<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    A nature destination, hiking <\/a>is an activity not to be missed in Gassin and the Presqu’\u00eele. Four signposted walks are available in Gassin, and many more in the surrounding communes. Not to be missed: the coastal path between Ramatuelle and La Croix-Valmer, or, higher up, the hikes around La Garde-Freinet or the Chartreuse de la Verne. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Some of the trails are accessible by mountain bike. Cycle paths <\/a>are available throughout the commune. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
