Conference "Resistance and Liberation on the Saint-Tropez peninsula", by Jean Marie Guillon

Cultural ( Conference )

Ramatuelle and the Saint-Tropez peninsula are well known for their role in the Mediterranean landings. Less well known is the role played by this area in the history of the Resistance in our region and far beyond.

Monday 11 November 2024 at 6 pm.

Between 1943 and 1944, it was the main point of contact between mainland France and the liberated territories of North Africa and Corsica. It was here that important clandestine connections were made, which would not have been possible had the Resistance not had solid local support. Despite their successes, these liaisons also experienced failures and tragedies. This is the story that the conference aims to shed light on.
