This 3rd edition of the Soirées Musicales de Grimaud features a trumpet and organ concert by Jean-Baptiste Robin, organist of the Chapelle Royale de Versailles, and David Guerrier, principal trumpet of the Berliner Philharmoniker.
Friday 25 April between 9 pm and 10 pm.
David Guerrier was principal horn of the Orchestre National de France and the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg. He is principal trumpet of the Orchestre National de France and will be appointed principal trumpet of the Berlin Philharmonic in 2024.
David Guerrier has received numerous awards. First Prize in the Maurice André International Competition in Paris, First Prize in the Philys Jones International Competition and First Prize in the ARD Competition in Munich, he was named ‘Instrumental Soloist of the Year’ at the 2004 and 2007 Victoires de la Musique awards.
Jean-Baptiste Robin is organist of the Chapelle Royale at the Château de Versailles. His frequent travels have led to recitals in over 20 European countries, Asia, Russia, Israel, Canada and almost half of the fifty states of the United States of America. He has composed more than fifty works, ranging from those for solo instruments to large symphonic orchestras, which have been premiered under conductors such as Marin Alsop and Pierre Boulez, and performed by a long list of interpreters.
