St Mickael's Day in Grimaud
Traditions and folklore / Entertainment/recreation ( Market - Car boot - Traditional festival )
The Saint-Michel festival is a heritage festival, with a garage sale combined with a craft market in Grimaud's three squares.
There will be plenty of entertainment throughout the day.
Sunday 28 September 2025.
The Saint-Michel festival dates back to the Middle Ages. It marked the expiry of rural leases, hence the expression ‘everyone moves on Saint-Michel’.
Along with the Wool Fair, the Midsummer Bonfires and the Village Fete, it remains one of the pillars of Grimaud tradition. One of the highlights of the town's long history...
To preserve the symbolism of this heritage festival, a garage sale is combined with a craft market in Grimaud's three main squares.
The religious tradition has also been preserved. A Provençal mass followed by a procession still honours the town's patron saint.
And to round off the festivities, throughout the day, to the sounds of fifes, galoubets and tambourines, come and enjoy our many entertainments, including the Escandihado association, a parade of Provençal stilt-walkers and improvised Provençal story-telling.
Programme 2025 to come.
