Le surréalisme, l’exposition du centenaire
Entertainment/recreation ( Exhibition )
Presented by GERALDINE BRETAULT, art historian and graduate of the Ecole du Louvre.
Tuesday 4 February 2025 at 6 pm.
Conceived by Didier Ottinger and Marie Sarré, the exhibition commemorates the movement's centenary. Anything but linear, the exhibition has been designed as a labyrinth to answer the question "everything you always wanted to know about Surrealism". While we are all familiar with the great figures of the movement-André Breton, Alberto Giacometti, René Magritte, Max Ernst, Giorgio de Chirico and many others-we have to admit that this movement is perhaps the most complex, but also the most fertile, in the entire history of the avant-garde. This unprecedented account unfolds new plural readings, opening up to the other nations of Surrealism and to women artists.
From one manifesto to another, between poetry, hypnosis, exquisite corpse and philosopher's stone, an artistic current that promises to revolutionize our senses.
