lecture presented by : GERALDINE BRETAULT, art historian, graduate of the Ecole du Louvre.

Following the entry of La Partie de bateau into the Musée d'Orsay collections in January 2023, the museum intends to pay tribute to one of the great figures of the period with a sumptuous exhibition to be presented in autumn 2024, to mark the 150th anniversary of Impressionism.

Long relegated to the rank of collector and amateur painter by art historians, Gustave Caillebotte (1848-1894) is now considered one of the movement's principal travelling companions, the author of numerous masterpieces, including the famous Raboteurs de parquet.

This is an opportunity to immerse ourselves in a strikingly modern body of work, in which the young man's other passions - botany, canoeing and photography - play a major role.
Caillebotte exhibition from 08.10.24 to 19.01.25 at the Musée d'Orsay, Paris.
