Ceramics exhibition by Peter Thumm at the Maison des Arcades.

For over 25 years, Peter Thumm has mastered all the techniques involved in the art of ceramics, giving him the freedom to devote himself entirely to artistic creation.

In addition to commissioned work, his workshops produce one-off pieces and sometimes limited editions, all in his very personal style. Peter Thumm likes to break away from the strictness of geometric shapes - spheres, cubes, hexagons and octagons - with designs that are sometimes inspired by classical models from Antiquity. Frescoes and reliefs are covered with figurative motifs in luminous colours, in rhythmic ornaments full of life, gravitating around themes such as ‘dance and movement’ or ‘man and nature’.

Peter Thumm's artistic creations bear witness to his desire for dialogue between different cultural worlds and art forms. His work fuses painting, sculpture and architecture into a single creative entity.
