To close the Grimaldines festival, let's plunge into the soulful atmosphere of the clubs of Saint-Louis in the United States for an electrifying concert by The Buttshakers!
The Buttshakers tornado arrives in Grimaud for the last night of the Grimaldines festival, and you won't soon forget it!
For over 10 years, the band have been setting stages alight with their hard-hitting groove and boundless energy, infusing every performance with an irresistible musical fever. Powerful brass, frenzied rhythms and spellbinding melodies: their music is an invitation to let go, to dance and to feel the very essence of the beat.
Led by the haunting voice and incandescent charisma of American singer Ciara Thompson, The Buttshakers turn every concert into an electric dancefloor. Originally from Missouri, Ciara Thompson grew up listening to jazz, blues, country and folk. Steeped in her musical roots, she fuses these American influences to create a subtle alchemy of soul, blues, rhythm & blues and funk, blending raw power with melodic finesse.
Their album ‘Arcadia’ won them unanimous critical acclaim, with Le Monde even describing them as ‘the best band capable of taking up the mantle of Sharon Jones and rivalling the Daptones’, and won over their fans. And with their latest single ‘Cold World’ (2024), they hit hard, mixing infectious groove with committed lyrics about the need to remain human in an increasingly cold and disenchanted world.
And the band aren't stopping there, as they're currently in the studio recording their new album, which promises even more surprises.
Take to the stage at the Château de Grimaud for a storm of emotions and rhythms that will take you all the way back to the clubs of St Louis in the States.
Vibrate to the sound of soul, feel this exceptional dynamism and let yourself be transported by the captivating stage presence of The Buttshakers!
