Illuminate the village, take a torchlit walk, enjoy a show and share a moment of mulled wine, roasted chestnuts and hot chocolate.
The Festival of Light marks the start of the wonderful Christmas season! To mark the occasion, Grimaud is decked out in its finest illuminations...
For the past 15 years, to herald the start of the Christmas festivities, the Fires of Saint John association has been organising an evening showcasing light.
This year, the Grimaud Tourist Office is taking over the organisation of the Festival of Light and will be pulling out all the stops, with a concert, a spectacular show, actors and illuminations of the town's facades. It's sure to be a spectacular evening, while continuing to honour light during this convivial evening to be shared with family and friends.
So, see you on Friday 6 December 2024 at 6.00 pm, on the Place Vieille!
PROGRAMME :
Join us from 6.00 pm on the Place Vieille to start the evening with the spellbinding voices of the Christmas Mademoiselles.
These three young women will charm you with their elegance, grace and vitality. You'll be immersed in the Christmas atmosphere with their covers of the greatest Christmas standards, set to jazzy, swinging rhythms.
A danceable repertoire with a vintage and modern twist!
Children can then pick up their lanterns for the procession through the streets of the village. During this torch-lit stroll, you'll meet characters from days gone by as they prepare to welcome the light.
You'll be amazed to see how Grimaud is set to become the light capital of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez.
The procession ends at Place Neuve, where Compagnie Danka's ‘Contre-Temps’ show begins at 7pm. The show will take you on a journey through time, combining dance, music and prowess.
You'll discover a moving, illuminated machine in which an automaton dancer frees herself from this mechanical universe to perform swaying dances. Look up to see an actor-musician enthroned on a moving clock 5 metres high, or to appreciate the flight of a trapeze artist on a mobile and autonomous apparatus spinning above the audience at a height of over 9 metres. It's a superb, poetic and magical show that will delight young and old alike!
Not forgetting, of course, free mulled wine, hot chocolate and roasted chestnuts!
Organised by the Tourist Office.
