Whether enchanted, fascinated, or deeply moved, From IN leaves no one unmoved.The piece draws inspiration from Chinese calligraphy, particularly an ideogram meaning "human," to develop a sinuous ribbon of undulating movements, lifts, jumps, and micro-oscillations. It evokes the encounter between two beings, love, connection, and also the departure of those we miss. These universal feelings give rise to "an abstract quality of movement" in which XieXin excels. Emerging from the shadows, the performers appear and disappear like phantasmagorical figures, their bodies sculpted by the effects of light, moving apart or coming together, in duets or groups, in unison or disjointed. The score, meticulously choreographed and deceptively simple—in appearance only—explores a multitude of gestures that lead them from slowness to explosion, culminating in a state of grace.
