The museum suggests to the visitors to discover, the real maritime identity of the city, through a surprising and alive "museographic" route.

Highlight of the defense of Saint-Tropez during several centuries, the Citadel is a beautiful example of a " pre-vauban " fortification from the beginning of the XVIIth century.Its dungeon, built from 1602 till 1607, was created to stop a possible Spanish attack. Its dissuasive role avoided the city to be attacked on numerous occasions.The site is since 1958, its public opening date, a famous cultural place of the town. It is one of the most visited tourist attraction in the region.
