Your office’s commitments

The Gassin Tourist Office is committed to an eco-responsible approach, and its staff, aware of sustainable development, also encourage socio-professionals and partners to follow suit.

Here are some examples of gestures that encourage this approach:

  • I reduce my color printing and paper mailings
  • I limit my own editions in favor of shared brochures, for example.
  • I opt for carpooling and public transport
  • I manage my use of water and household products
  • if I have to carry out work, I think about improving the insulation of my building
  • I program my computer to automatically go to sleep after 15 minutes of non-use.
  • I prefer low-energy lighting
  • I always turn off the lights in the room I’m leaving

A Gassin s’engage pour le tourisme durable (Gassin commits to sustainable tourism) charter reminds us of the importance of doing the right thing (walking and car-pooling are the preferred means of transport, reducing electricity consumption, good maintenance of equipment, using cups rather than disposable ones, printing only the necessary documents, etc.).

The OT team has acquired an electric vehicle, which will be delivered in October 2020, in line with the town council’s drive to “green” public parks and reduce CO2 emissions. The commune of Gassin exceeds its legal obligations, as the last 4 vehicles purchased are electric. In addition to the environmental benefits, significant savings are already being made on fuel.

In addition, to enable the recharging of private vehicles, both local and foreign, a charging station from the Electric 55 Charging company based in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez was installed at the Marines parking lot in Gassin in autumn 2018. A second terminal will be installed on Place Léon Martel, in front of the tourist office.

Waste sorting is carried out daily in all our offices.

The website of the communauté de communes, in charge of waste collection, features a page dedicated to the special fee.

You can download a guide on the subject here.

Protecting posidonia

Did you know?

The Posidonia meadow (Posidonia oceanica) is the LUNG OF THE MEDITERRANEAN.

Its presence is proof of the clarity of the waters, so don’t be surprised if you find it on the beaches, it’s deliberately left there to prevent the waves from washing away the sand.

👉 Il existe près de 60 espèces de posidonie qui forment d’immenses forêts sous-marines visibles jusqu’à 50 mètres de profondeur.

Posidonia oceanica is protected by law in France and it is forbidden to destroy it.
